Kate Upton is an American model and actress. She is famous for her appearance in the sports illustrated swimsuit issue. Kate was named Rookie of the year following her first appearance in 2011 and was the cover model for the 2012 & 2013 issues. She was also the subject of the 100 centennial Vanity Fair cover.

Kate Upton was born in Michigan, St. Joseph, and Florida raised in Melbourne. She is the son of Shelley, a former Texas status tennis winner, and Jeff Upton, a high school athletics director. Kate’s grandfather, Frederic Upton, was co-founder of appliance manufacturer and marketer (Whirlpool Corporation). Her uncle, Fred Upton, is a U.S representative.

Kate attended a casting call in Miami for Elite Model Management in 2008 and was signed by them the same day, and she sooner or later motivated to New York City, where she signed with IMG Fashion Models. In April 2011, an internet videotape of her doing the doggie hip-hop dance at a Los Angeles Clippers game went viral and served to increase her popularity. Upton’s acting debut was in the movie, Overlook Heist, as Mr. Hightower Mistress. It was released in 2011 November. She also appears in the 3  stooges as Sister Bernice. In 2012, she was ranked the fifth sexiest model by MODELS’S. In 2013, she was model of the year at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York.
